Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy (the "Policy") explains what personal information GameOnGoNow collects from Fans and Restaurant Partners, why we collect it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. It is a companion to our Terms & Conditions, which use the same defined terms.

Part 1

Overview

Who this Policy covers

This Policy applies to anyone who uses the Service: Fans browsing for games and deals, and Restaurant Partners who create or claim a Listing, whether or not you create an account. This Policy covers the usage of the website gameongonow.com and related features.

What we are and are not doing with your data

GameOnGoNow is a discovery platform, not an ad network. We collect the information needed to run the Service: accounts, Listings, and location for "near me" search, and to communicate with you about your account. As of this Policy's effective date, we do not run third-party advertising trackers or sell personal information to data brokers. If that ever changes, we will update this Policy first and, where the law requires it, give you a way to opt out.

Part 2

Information We Collect

Information you give us directly

  • Account information: email address and password (or, if you sign in with Google, your Google account's name, email, and profile photo) for Restaurant Partner accounts.
  • Listing information you submit: when you claim or manage a Listing, the business name, address, hours, photos, game-showing information, and Deal details you provide or update. Listings that have not yet been claimed by their business ("Community Listings") are populated from public sources, not from information an individual gave us directly; see "Information from third parties" below.
  • Profile preferences: settings and preferences tied to your account, such as your notification preferences (for example, whether you want agenda reminder emails).
  • Communications: anything you send us directly, like a support email or a claim dispute.

Information collected automatically

  • Location: we use location information to show you nearby bars and restaurants. This comes from one of two sources: if you grant permission, your device's precise location through your browser's geolocation feature; or, if you do not grant permission, an approximate location we determine from the city, neighborhood, or address you type into a search. You can decline the browser's location permission and still use the Service by searching manually.
  • Authentication cookies: Restaurant Partner accounts use a session cookie (set by our authentication provider, Supabase) to keep you signed in. These are strictly necessary for the dashboard to function and cannot be turned off without signing out.
  • Basic technical data: standard web server logs (IP addresses, browser types, pages requested, timestamps) generated automatically by Vercel, our application hosting provider, for security and troubleshooting.

We use PostHog, a product analytics service, to understand how the app is used — page views and clicks on both the fan-facing site and the restaurant dashboard. We do not use session recordings, and we do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

Information from third parties

Game schedule, venue, and mapping information, including the initial data behind unclaimed Community Listings, is sourced in part from third-party data providers (like Google Places).

Part 3

How We Use Information

We use this information to:

  • Operate the Service: to create and secure your account, to display Listings, and to match Fans to nearby Deals.
  • Communicate with you: to send you account, security, and service emails (not optional while you hold an account); marketing or reminder emails like agenda reminders (optional - you can unsubscribe anytime).
  • Verify claims and prevent fraud: we want to confirm that someone claiming a Listing is authorized to represent that business, detect fake accounts, fraudulent Deals, or abuse of rate limits and access controls.
  • Comply with law and enforce our Terms: to respond to legal processes, investigate violations of our Terms & Conditions, and protect the rights and safety of our users and the public.
Part 4

How We Share Information

We share information with the vendors who help us run the Service, and in the limited other circumstances described here. We do not sell personal information.

What we do not do

We do not sell personal information to data brokers, and we do not share Fan-identifying information with Restaurant Partners or third parties for their own independent marketing purposes.

Service providers

We use the following categories of vendors to operate the Service, each of which processes information on our behalf under its own security and confidentiality obligations:

  • Supabase: database hosting, authentication, and file storage (e.g., Listing photos).
  • Vercel: application hosting and infrastructure.
  • Resend: sending transactional emails (confirmations, password resets, and reminders).
  • Google: Google Sign-In (if you use it) and Google Places/Maps data for venue and location information.
  • Upstash: rate-limiting infrastructure that helps prevent abuse; it processes request metadata, not account content.

Restaurant Partners

A Restaurant Partner sees the content of its own Listing. It does not receive a Fan's name, contact information, or any other Fan-identifying information through the Service.

Legal and safety

We may disclose information if we believe in good faith that it is necessary to comply with a subpoena, court order, or other legal process; to enforce our Terms; or to protect the rights, property, or safety of GameOnGoNow, our users, or the public.

Business transfers

If GameOnGoNow is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you (e.g., by email or a notice on the Service) if your information becomes subject to a different privacy policy as a result.

Part 5

Your Choices & Rights

Access, correction, and deletion

You can update most of your account information directly through the Service. To request a copy of the information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete your account and associated personal information, email support@gameongonow.com. We will verify your identity before acting on the request. Some information may be retained where we have a legitimate business or legal reason to keep it, for example, records needed to resolve a dispute or comply with law.

Marketing emails

Marketing and reminder emails (like game-day agenda reminders) include an unsubscribe link, or you can turn these emails off in your account settings. Account-related emails (confirmation, security, service notices) are not optional while you hold an account, since they are necessary to operate the account.

Location

Location sharing through your browser is optional. You can decline or later revoke it through your browser or device settings. Declining does not block you from using the Service; you can search by city or neighborhood instead.

Cookies

The authentication cookie described in Part 2 is required for Restaurant Partner accounts to function and cannot be disabled without signing out. We do not currently set any optional or advertising cookies, so there is no cookie preference banner on the Service today. If that changes, we will add a cookie control here.

State privacy rights (California and other states)

Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws like the California Consumer Privacy Act, including the right to know what personal information we have collected, request its deletion, and not be discriminated against for exercising these rights. We do not sell or "share" (as that term is defined under California law) personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. You can exercise these rights using the contact information in Part 7; we may need to verify your identity first.

Part 6

Security, Retention & Other Details

Security

We use industry-standard safeguards to protect information: encrypted connections (HTTPS) throughout the Service, database-level access controls (row-level security) so accounts can only reach their own data, rate limiting on sensitive endpoints, and hashed storage of passwords by our authentication provider.

Data retention

We retain account and Listing information for as long as the account is active, and for a reasonable period after that to resolve disputes, enforce our Terms, and meet legal obligations. When you delete your account, we delete or anonymize personal information within a reasonable time, except where we are permitted or required to retain it.

Age requirement

Anyone can browse the Service (view games, Listings, and Deals) without creating an account, regardless of age. Creating an account requires you to be 21 or older, consistent with our Terms & Conditions, since Deals frequently reference alcohol.

Where information is processed

GameOnGoNow is based in the United States, and information we collect is processed and stored in the United States by the service providers listed in Part 4.

Changes to this Policy

We may update this Policy as the Service evolves. We will post the updated version here with a new "Last updated" date, and for material changes, like a new category of data we collect or a new way we share it, we will make a reasonable effort to notify account holders by email before the change takes effect.
